Geumjeongsan fall colors: take the cable car up, then explore

Edited from verified facts. This is not a visitor review.

Fall colors at Geumjeongsan Mountain and Busan Fortress

Local information

Address

447, Geumjeongsan-daero, Geumjeong-gu, Busan

How to get there

From Seongsu Station on Busan Metro Line 1, take bus to Geumjeongsan, then get off at the Geumjeongsan Cable Car station. Alternatively, about 20 minutes by taxi from North Busan IC.

Geumjeongsan is an 801.5m mountain north of Busan, with Busan Fortress at the summit. In autumn, the entire mountain turns to fall colors, with particularly stunning views from the cable car.

Official guidance provides cable car operating hours and fees, plus recommended summit hiking routes. Several scenic overlooks near the summit offer views of Busan city and the sea.

With parents or children, we recommend taking the cable car to the summit, then exploring at a leisurely pace. After exploring the fortress, visit the fall color spots on the southern slope for an efficient itinerary.

This article does not fix operating hours or fees. Verify variable information on official sites before departure, and tell the concierge your party size and age bands if walking comfort matters.
