Riding the bus

Board at the front door and tap your card. Check the route number and destination before you get on.

How it works

1. Getting on

Busan city buses board through the front door. Tap your transit card on the reader, or drop the fare into the box if you pay cash. Cash is not changed, so it helps to have small notes and coins ready.

  1. Board through the front door
  2. Tap your card, or pay the fare in cash
  3. Check the route number and destination, then take a seat

2. Getting off

You normally exit through the rear door. Standard city buses are pay-on-boarding, so you do not tap again when you get off. Some routes, such as seat buses and express buses, do require a tap on exit. Check with the driver or the on-board display when you board.

3. Finding your route

Buses are identified by route number and destination display. Using the bus search in a map app to check your boarding stop, alighting stop, and estimated arrival in advance keeps you from getting lost. Route information is also posted on the stop itself.

Tips

  • A transit card is the easiest option; with cash you need coins or small notes.
  • Note the name of your stop and watch the on-board display or announcements.
  • Buses get crowded at rush hour; shifting your timing helps if you have large luggage.
